Congratulations to Bev and Tom Gould for another fine showing at yet another Zone 8 Concours d'Elegance!

Bev and Tom Gould continue to bring top honors trophies home to PCA-SDR in all the concours in which they enter Bev's vintage orange targa, Bevees! This past Sunday, July 12, Bev and Tom won their class and tied for the Full Concours Division! Unfortunately, they lost the tie breaker by an extremely narrow margin, based on whomever had the first deduction on their master score sheet. A yellow 914-6 took the Full Concours Division title in the end.
You always do PCA-SDR proud, Tom and Bev! Congrats again!

Porsche Parade: 1985 Porsche 911 Speedster prototype

Porsche Parade always attracts Porsche's of all types — street cars, race cars, daily drivers, and garage queens — and this year in French Lick, Indiana was no exception. Every so often, though, members find themselves in the company of the rarest Porsche's, a category for which this 1985 Porsche 911 Speedster prototype qualifies.

I love driving cars

I love driving cars, looking at them, cleaning and washing and shining them. I clean 'em inside and outside. I'm very touchy about cars. I don't want anybody leaning on them or closing the door too hard, know what I mean? _Scott Baio

Be Fluid

Treat each project differently. Be water, man. The best style is no style. Because styles can be figured out. And when you have no style they can’t figure you out.

Mark Webber Drives New Porsche 911 GT3 RS on the Nurburgring!

Mark Webber, Porsche GT3-RS-991-1
Images have emerged showing just former Formula One racer and current Porsche factory driver Mark Webber behind the wheel of the 2016  Porsche 911  GT3 RS at the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
Due to the presence of cameras filming the action cars, it seems inevitable that a new promotional video for the most hardcore of 911 models is in the works. Filming such a clip and 'Green Hell' is quite fitting considering the new GT3 RS laps the famous track in a mere 7 minutes and 20 seconds.
The 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS of course uses a brand new 4.0-liter six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine which remains. It has been tuned to deliver 493 hp (the same as the 997 GT3 RS 4.0) but now delivers 384 lb-ft of torque which is 15 lb-ft more than the GT3 RS 4.0. Additionally, these figures represent a 25 hp and 60 lb-ft increase over the current 911 GT3.
As always, the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS features rear wheel drive and the aforementioned six-cylinder engine is coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. As a result, the German sports car will accelerate to 100 km / h in a mere 3.3 seconds and cracking the 200 km / h mark in just 10.9 seconds. By comparison, the old 911 GT3 RS needed 3.9 seconds to hit 100 km / h. For more of Porsche check http://pcasdr.net/2013/

New York International Auto Show 2015: World Premiere of the Boxster Spyder

photo
March 31, 2015
New top model in Boxster family
Atlanta. Porsche is highlighting the 2015 convertible season by celebrating the world premiere of the new Boxster Spyder. This pure sports car will make its debut at the New York International Auto Show. The new top model of the Boxster range retains the unique and unmistakable character of the previous Spyder, which has already attained cult status. For example, the classic roadster top is still opened and closed by hand, and the Boxster Spyder is only available with a manual transmission, benefiting both weight savings and driver enjoyment.
Staying true to roadster DNA, the Boxster Spyder offers a traditional sports-car driving experience combined with truly exceptional performance. This includes a firm sport suspension with a 20-mm lower ride height, brakes taken from the 911 Carrera S, more direct steering, and a 3.8-liter horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine with an output of 375 hp, culminating in a genuine sports car experience with outstanding driving dynamics. It is the lightest model of the current Boxster line, and the most powerful Boxster to date. Taking only 4.3 seconds to sprint from 0 to 60 mph, the Boxster Spyder has a top track speed of 180 mph.
The distinctive design of the Boxster Spyder includes stylistic elements reminiscent of legendary sports and race cars from Porsche. Two prominent streamliners that extend down along the sweeping rear lid behind the headrests pay tribute to the 718 Spyder from the 1960s. The manually operated, lightweight top is suitable for everyday use with an electric clasp, while bringing to mind roadsters from the past. The fins that stretch back from the top to the rear lend the vehicle’s silhouette its characteristic design. The front and rear fascia’s also are unique to the Boxster Spyder, and an air outlet is located in front of the forward luggage compartment.
More so than in any other Boxster, the interior of the new Spyder creates an atmosphere that elicits a feeling of pure driving pleasure. The driver and passenger sit in standard Sport Seats Plus, while the new steering wheel with a diameter of 360 mm (compared to 370 mm in other Boxster models) helps ensure the mid-engine roadster can be driven precisely and with great agility.
In line with the model’s traditional roadster character, neither a radio nor an air conditioner is included as standard equipment in order to reduce weight. However, both can be ordered as optional equipment at no cost. Furthermore, the entire range of Boxster audio systems is available for customers to choose from as an option, including the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with navigation.
The new Boxster Spyder will be launched in the U.S. market in October and can now be ordered at dealerships. In the United States, the MSRP is $82,100, not including a $995 destination charge.
